hi there! i'm allison...
... and welcome to my blog!
I'm just a 'normal' Roman Catholic young woman. I work full-time at a Catholic parish in Virginia as the Director of Evangelization and Communications: keeping up with our social media accounts, putting on parish events, and brainstorming how to better reach Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
I have a wonderful mom and dad, an amazing older brother and sister, 2 really cool in-laws, and 14 crazy, fun, exciting nieces and nephews. In 3 short weeks, I'll be marrying my best friend Christopher, whose name is mentioned on here way too few times (though that will be changing in the weeks and months to come, I know).
When I have a break from work, you can probably find me reading a book (anything from historical fiction to Catholic non-fiction to classics and everything in between!), writing, cooking, taking care of our little apartment, and learning how to ballroom dance from my professional-dancer fiancé (but literally, he dances for a living. how cool?! what is my life?!).

Why do I blog? |
It's a question I've asked myself more times than I can count. I don't aim to be the "latest and greatest" Catholic blogger, nor do I think anything huge would be missing from the online world if I didn't blog.
But I believe everybody has a story, and that story is always worth telling. No two people on this earth have exactly the same lives, but lots of us have things in common. And more often than not, we can learn from each other. I have learned this personally over the past five years, as I have been struggling in various aspects of my life, and have found answers through people's personal experiences, oftentimes written on their blogs. It is through the stories of our lives that we come to understand both our own humanity and that of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Maybe you can learn from my experiences and my story. I can probably learn from you as well! I welcome comments, questions, or expressions of concern on all my posts, or you can email me below. |
(I will never, ever sell your information or use it for anything other than replying to you!) |
